Antenatal care

Becoming a mother is one of the most exciting times in a woman's life.

Preparing for a child to come into your life is a rewarding and an overwhelming experience. From the time you discover you are pregnant to the time you deliver, quality obstetrical care is very important for safe childbirth.

During pregnancy, a woman can develop serious, life-threatening complications that require medical care. Antenatal care involves monitoring the health of you and your baby while you’re pregnant (antenatal means before birth).

Because there is no reliable way to predict which women will develop these complications, it is essential that all pregnant women have access to high quality obstetric care throughout their pregnancies, especially during and immediately after childbirth when most emergency complications arise.

Our team at GEMS Speciality Clinic for women, led by Dr Charulata Bapaye will help you through the entire process from pre-conception through post-partum.

GEMS Antenatal care program consists of :

1. Regular check ups :
    a. Monthly check up during the first two trimesters (from week 1–28)
     b. Fortnightly check up from 28th week to 36th week of pregnancy
     c. Weekly check up after 36th week until delivery (delivery at week 38–42)
2. Foetal monitoring
